Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our frozen egg program, donor selection, guarantees, and next steps.

What are frozen eggs?

Frozen eggs are mature oocytes collected from young, healthy donors and preserved through a process called vitrification — an advanced rapid-freezing technique that maintains the egg’s quality and viability until it’s ready to be used.

Are frozen eggs as effective as fresh eggs?

Yes. Thanks to modern vitrification technology, success rates for frozen and fresh eggs are comparable when handled by experienced IVF laboratories and clinics.

What are the main benefits of choosing frozen eggs?

No waiting list – you can begin your journey immediately.
Predictable outcomes – you know exactly how many eggs you’re receiving.
Faster and more affordable – no need to synchronize the donor’s and recipient’s cycles.
Access to international donors – a wider selection of beautiful, healthy, and diverse profiles.

How many eggs are included in each batch?

Each batch usually contains 6, 8, 10, or 12 mature eggs, depending on the donor’s availability and the package selected (Basic, Premium, or Elite).

Can I choose my donor?

Yes. Origen provides a secure, password-protected database where intended parents can view detailed donor profiles — including photos, personal background, education, medical and genetic history, and a personal message from the donor.

Do you offer guarantees?

Yes. Depending on the package you choose, Origen offers guarantees for a minimum number of mature eggs, viable embryos, or PGT-A-normal blastocysts, as outlined in your agreement.

How does shipment coordination work?

Origen works with specialized cryo-transport companies to coordinate international shipments, ensuring your eggs arrive safely at your chosen clinic and remain in perfect condition.

How do I get started?

Browse our donor database to explore available donors, then schedule a complimentary consultation with our team. We’ll help you choose the right donor and egg package, answer your questions, and coordinate every next step with your clinic.

Are the eggs from medically and genetically tested donors?

Yes. All donors go through comprehensive medical, psychological, and genetic screening, meeting international standards for reproductive health and safety.

Where are the eggs stored?

The eggs are stored in liquid nitrogen cryotanks at accredited fertility laboratories and clinics, with 24-hour monitoring and temperature control to ensure complete safety and stability.

How long can frozen eggs be stored?

Frozen eggs can remain preserved indefinitely without significant loss of quality.

What happens after I purchase the eggs?

Once you select and purchase your batch:
1. The eggs are shipped to your chosen clinic.
2. They are thawed and fertilized with sperm from your partner or a donor.
3. Resulting embryos are cultured and then transferred to the uterus (or to a gestational carrier, if applicable).

Can the frozen egg program be combined with surrogacy?

Absolutely. Many intended parents choose to use frozen eggs within our surrogacy program, allowing their process to start right away and reducing waiting time.
